I went to see Pixie Lott on her first headline UK tour, The Crazy Cats tour, when she played Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Tuesday 14th December.
When I came downstairs one Saturday morning for my breakfast, my mom said to me ‘How would you like to go and see Pixie Lott?’ I couldn’t believe my ears, I was so excited. When I got there, I had to stand in a queue to get registered and I bought a programme. I found out where I had got to go and sat down in my seat. You could see the stage clearly. On the curtain, it said ‘SoundGirl’. SoundGirl were the support act for the tour. SoundGirl are an R’N’B group from London. They have worked with people such as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Fergie and Cheryl Cole. Their first single is currently due in February, with an album to follow in May. When SoundGirl had finished, the staff got the stage ready for Pixie to come on.

When the curtain was drawn back, Pixie was in a bed on the stage. She took to the stage, rising from her bed, in red pyjamas with her four-piece dance troupe and sung ‘Mama Do’. Then she performed ‘Doing Fine (Without You)’. This was one of my favourites on the night. Then she wound things down and sang ‘Gravity’. This was the first of five costume changes, which included a tutu, a winter outfit and a lycra outfit. She then performed ‘The Way the World Works’, her latest single ‘Broken Arrow’, and covered Plan B’s ‘She Said’, followed by ‘Band Aid’. She then sung the upbeat track ‘Here We Go Again’.

Pixie Lott is in to soul and Motown music, so she included some soul in to the setlist. She started off with ‘Midnight Train to Georgia’, then did a medley of ‘You Keep Me Hanging On’, ‘Reach Out’ and ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’. All of the covers had the crowd singing along. She also did a cover of Cee-Lo Green’s ‘Forget You’, and sang one of the emotional tracks from her album, ‘Nothing Compares’.

Pixie performed her forthcoming single ‘Can’t Make This Over’. She then asked the audience if they were ready to ‘Turn It Up’. She burst in to the catchy title track and my favourite Pixie song. She then sang ‘Rolling Stone’, followed by her cover of the Kings of Leon’s ‘Use Somebody’, and performed ‘Hold Me In Your Arms’.

After that she performed the slow, soulful ballad ‘Cry Me Out’, which is my second favourite track by Pixie. There were a number of costume changes, including a dance outfit that allowed her to show some ballet moves as part of the routine to ‘Cry Me Out’, before the encore.
The back-up dancers had their own interlude, dancing to Aristocats classic ‘Everybody Wants To Be A Cat’ before the encore. Pixie Lott then emerged for the encore in a winter coat and furry hat, taking to the stage to perform ‘Catching Snowflakes’, as fairy lights were turned on and the snow machines blasted the fake snow. To finish off the set, she got changed once more to perform ‘Boys And Girls’.
The show and performance was very good. I was on the left balcony, so I could see her clearly. This was the first ever concert that I had been to. I like most of her songs. I thought that she had a good voice and that she tried her best to entertain all of her fans who were there on the night. I did not expect to see so many people, but there was a really good turn out and worth the money. I thought that her band, backing singers and dancers were all very good. I thought she was a very good dancer herself. I would go and see Pixie again. Thank you Pixie!
