‘Honey 2’ is the sequel to the first dance film titled Honey starring Jessica Alba. I went to watch it on the day it came out, and was very excited to watch the film as the trailer looked really good. I watched the first film, ‘Honey’, and found I really enjoyed it as it deals with creating a better future for young kids through dancing.

The film is about a young girl, aged 17, called Maria Ramirez who has a talent in dancing. She escapes trouble and is adopted into a family, starting her new life working in a supermarket and as a cleaner at a school. She watches a street dance group dancing, and finds the dance group ‘Honey 2’ and shows of her talent. The group invites her in, as they want to enter a dance competition, competing on the television show ‘Dance or Die’. The group enters this competition every week, taking part in the live shows hoping for the chance to win.

The film is inspirational for me, as it reflects and deals with life as a whole. The young dominant character is put through difficult trials in life, however, overcomes her disadvantages and is able to show her talent in dancing. It seems her determination and motivation pushed her to try her best in the competition, showing the amount that you put into something is what you will achieve as an end result.  It depends on how motivated you are as an individual, and anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself.
