Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) had a perfect life. Well paid job, nice house, good kids and married to his childhood sweetheart, Emily (Julianne Moore). But everything changes when Emily announces she’s been having an affair and wants a divorce.

In desperation, Cal finds himself alone in a bar, where he tells almost everybody he meets there of his troubles and heartache. It’s there that Cal meets super-smooth and handsome bachelor Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). Jacob takes pity on Cal, and in attempt to help him get over his wife, offers his help, to turn Cal into a ‘ladies man’.

But Cal’s not the only one in love. His son is too; with a crush on his babysitter, but to his disappointment, she’s already fallen for ‘an older man’. Not forgetting Cal’s eldest daughter, Hannah (Emma Stone), who after realising how boring her boyfriend was, breaks up with him and following a friend’s advice, pursues a man who’s been on her mind for a long time. Even heart-breaker Jacob falls for the girl of his dreams in the end, putting an end to his nights spent flirting in the bar.

In my opinion, it was a funny film, and I really loved the variety of characters. The lives of the characters are cleverly and unexpectedly intertwined and Crazy Stupid Love is a typical rom com- light-hearted, funny and romantic. If you enjoy romance and happy endings then it’s definitely a film for you.
