‘Messy Little Raindrops’ is the second studio album by Cheryl Cole, released on 1st November 2010 by Fascination Records. The name of the album ‘Messy Little Raindrops’ presents a metaphorical meaning as the title may convey her personal life, because all the songs on the album will unavoidably be interpreted to reflect her recent divorce from footballer Ashley Cole. Cheryl has been through so much with her ex-husband that she has had the flood of tears, however, track number 11 ‘Happy Tears’ presents a change, that she has moved on and only happy memories remain.

The album utilizes a more dance pop sound than Cole’s previous album. The lead single, ‘Promise This’, became the fastest-selling non-charity single of 2010 in the UK, peaking at number one. The album also debuted at number one in the UK. I enjoyed all of her songs as she inspires me as a female solo artist, but my favourite song is ‘Promise This’ as the lyrics appeal to me and also the beat of the music is good to dance to.
