Britain: It’s time… to face… the music…!!!

By Abu Syddek

Yes it’s back but with a new panel of judges! Sounds interesting don’t it and yes of course there’s something to hype about.

Host Dermot O’Leary is back presenting and the easy part of reading out which acts survive and the most difficult part – which acts are in the bottom two! We have the incredible Gary Barlow from Take That, (replacing nasty Cowell) who of course brings tonnes of experience from his amazing career. Replacing Cheryl Cole – the hot Kelly Rowland, a big singing star in the USA who’s just so good looking and also her comments are just so heart touching. Swapping seats with Danie Minogue is Tulisa from N-Dubz, who has bought a whole new attitude to the panel. And last but not least the boring old Louis Walsh. That’s the guy who holds his pen twenty- four-seven and keeps on clapping like well whatever you’d like to compare it with. He’s the only judge to have survived on the show.

The judges and their categories:

Gary Barlow – The boys.
Kelly Rowland – The girls.
TulisaContostavlos – The groups.
Louis Walsh – Over 25’s.

Week 1

Theme: US v UK

All acts did their absolute best and pushed themselves to the maximum limit possible. But… a big shock for the 16 acts as the judges reveal that it won’t be the public deciding on who exits the show on the X Factor Live Results show on Sunday but their mentors themselves! Judges Kelly and Tulisa were brought down to tears when deciding who to dump and were both very sympathetic towards their acts.

All four judges chose to keep three acts in their categories and one act to leave. And the decisions were…

Gary Barlow – James Michael.
Kelly Rowland – Amelia Lily.
TulisaContostavlos – Two Shoes.
Louis Walsh – Jonjo Kerr.

It was a very tough decision to be made and judges said that it was one of the hardest decisions to make in their life and I would agree. Now only twelve acts to go till the X Factor winner!

Week 2

Theme: Love and heartbreak

There were some good vocals by a majority of the singers and all acts working very hard to pay of the result in the end. Kitty had voted for herself 126 times it was claimed! She had a nerve feeling that she would end up in the bottom two. Sami Brookes sang Leona Lewis’s famous song ‘I will always love you’. With two judges who ended up on their feet I think she deserved it.

For some reason Nu Vibe weren’t the favourite for the public and were in the bottom along with Marcus Collins. As usual the sing off had to be done and then it was all down to the judges. Gary went with his own boy –Collins and Kelly did the same. Tulisa went with her own boys and then Louis had the power to either send Nu Vibe home or bring it deadlock. But in the end he decided to send Nu Vibe home. Their mentor Tulisa was in tears and so were the boys. Bless! Now only eleven acts to go till the X Factor winner!

Week 3

Theme: Rock!

Well it speaks for itself all hard core rock and a touch of guitar added to it. Jonny Robinson was just loveable with Gary Barlow saying he enjoyed it. Janet and that beautiful voice was amazing and she’s one of those contestants where it’s just a gifted talent – the voice. If she can carry on with that voice right till the end then she will be in the final two for sure!

Not so favourite with the public kitty ends up in the bottom two along with beautiful Sami. It’s such a shock isn’t it and it proves that no one is safe in this competition. They have their own songs to sing off with and it’s over to the all-important judges.Gary sends Sami home – followed by Kelly who did the same. Tulisa decides to send Kitty home and finally their own judge Louis who votes for Sami to go home.WHAT! I know what you must be thinking. What’s he playing at? Before deciding who to send home he says that Kitty isn’t connecting with the public and yet he sends Sami home. Well a pity for Louis.

Week 4

Theme: Halloween Special

One of our judges is poorly! Oh no! Kelly Rowland who was in LA was sick and there was someone needed to replace her. The perfect person had popped up –the winner of the X Factor 2008 Alexandra Burke. OMG! We welcome back on our TV screens with the warmest of welcomes.

Woooowwww!!! The masks, face paints, weird clothing, footwear, hair like a spider web–that’s what make up Halloween. Not to mention Gary’s big slobbery kiss on Johnny’s cheek. All acts did well but a little concern for Frankie as he is starting to lose it from my own point of view. Although his mentor Gary says he can party but as long as he has the music. But I believe that no that shouldn’t be allowed. It’s just to much freedom to be going out for a few days in a row and getting all drunk with your friends. He’s here to win and not play party games!

With Kelly Rowland being absent due to her sickness there’s even more bad news for her. Yes that’s right as two of her acts are in the bottom two causing her more grief as to which one she decides to send home. Sophie and Misha B end in the bottom two and they battle it out in the sing off. Now the judges who have the hardest part to decide who to send home and the easiest part to mention the act. From the other side now and Louis opts to send Sophie home. Moving on to Tulisa who says it’s the biggest shock of the competition for her. But she has to make a decision on who to send home and Sophie is mention. Kelly is on the phone Live from LA who says it’s so hard for her to decide but didn’t take long to decide upon who to mention – Sophie was read out and that was the end of the road for her.

Host Dermot o’ Leary did ask Gary who he would’ve chosen if he has the ability and said Sophie. A shock I must say as Tulisa did mention and Misha B is lucky to have survived the decision making.

Week 5

Theme: Dance for classics.

It’s a double elimination so read on to see what happened…? At the beginning of the show Tulisa makes the air clear by saying, “we’re all happy families now” – the judges.Opening the show was the over 25’s category (Louis), it’s Johnny. With a smart appearance and a flashy performance.

Now with the cat fights! Louis and Kelly get in to an argument over Gary’s act – Frankie. Louis says he will never become a rock star, and Kelly hits back saying you don’t judge a person like that. Louis then adds it’s my opinion. Followed by a continuation of shuttup, shuttup, shuttup.

A double elimination! First with the fewest votes was‘The Risk’. OMG! I know what you’re thinking as it’s a real shock as I thought that they would make it to the final just like JLS. Then the next two acts who are in the bottom two with a sing off followed by the judges deciding who to send home. Johnny and Kitty in the bottom two both of whom are Louis acts. Over to Louis who decides to send Johnny home followed by Tulisa who make the same decision. Kelly sends Johnny home and that’s the end of the road for him. Garry is asked who he would send home if he had the opportunity and he said Johnny but added he’s one of the best people on the X Factor show. Aaaawww.

Week 6

Theme: Gaga Vs. Queen

Technical problem as the BT tower in London had a power cut, buts we start at 8.30pm;however we were meant to start at 8.15pm. Host Dermot O’Leary kicks off the show with his small dance routine with 3 ladies.

Frankie Coccoza kicked off the show as he broke one of the rules by taking drugs. Tabloids have said that he was kicked off. A small clip shows Frankie’s moments when he reveals he’s leaving to the rest of the contestants in the house. Nowfour fired contestants have the ability to make a debut return, after the public make their votes. 2 Shoes, Amelia Lily, James Michael and Jonjo Kerr.

Kitty opens the show with her horses even though she was unable to sing ‘Born This Way’ by Lady Gaga. Instead she was given the song ‘Queen’ by Louis and she delivered with energy.

Lines are now closed to vote for the 4 acts which had the ability to return to the show.

It’s Janet’s birthday and Dermot announces it during the live show. It wasn’t the perfect birthday present for her as she doesn’t receive the best of comments. Gary says he’s completely lost interest in her and her face expression suddenly slumps to one side.

Marcus proved what you exactly need to become the person worthy of winning the X Factor. Tactical critique as suggested by Gary Barlow. But some of the judges seem to like slagging off some of the acts.

Last 48 hours votes have been in for the four acts who are given the chance to come back for a second chance. Dermot reveals the name of who returns – Amelia Lilly! Amelia then performs and presents the nation with a sharp and clear performance. She receives positive comments.

The Results

Our five chaps are back yes ladies it’s One Direction (1D)! they made it number 1 with ‘What makes you beautiful’ and also which became the fastest selling album. Tonight they came back with their new single ‘Got to be you’. Vocally they were fantastic and staging, costume and their stage presence created a buzz in the studio – especially with their wild fans going even more wild.

Thereafter Dermot talks with all the acts who are backstage through the studio screen live. He asks on what they think of their performance and most of all if they’re confident or not?

Dermot asks the judges how they’re feeling and they give their verdict.

Up next is the biggest pop star on the planet! She has sold 100 million record sales. Won 5 Grammy awards and she is the most downloaded artist in history! It’s Lady Gaga. A rather unusual staging and as it’s Lady Gaga it isn’t surprising. She carries a beheaded person on her back which looks horrificand she isweird when it comes to dresses. She gives a small dance off along with all her men who dance with her. Just 5 months ago Lady Gaga released an album and managed to sell 7 million copies. Astonishing isn’t it?

Final Results

Dermot welcomes back the judges and their acts – time for the results. He will reveal the 5 acts who are through to next week’s live show.Craig makes it through, then Janet, thereafter Marcus, followed by Amelia who is shocked (her first public vote). The fifth act through is Little Mix.

Misha B vs Kitty will have to sing in the final show down. The sing off is carried out and now the authority is over to the all-important 4 people, the judges. We start off with Louis and he says as he is Kitty’s mentor it’s obvious who he will choose to send home is Misha B. Tulisa goes with Kitty and Kelly opts for the same. Gary sends Kitty home and that’s it her dream of becoming the winner of the X Factor is over. Kitty gives us a little song from ‘Born this way’ as she departs. But why did she get the fewest votes if she’s so good?

On the Xtra Factor Lady Gaga gives Kitty a big squeeze (hug) on stage as they cry together. They then run off stage for a quite drink, while presenter Olly Murs says he wants to also join them and Caroline saying he can’t. Bless! Can you imagine Lady Gaga giving Kitty a record deal?! Who knows it may happen one day?

Week 7

Theme: Movie night

Opening the show is Craig from the boys category, Gary Barlow. He attended the Children In Need show as suggested by the clip shown before his appearance on stage which was organised by his very own mentor Gary. Fans were shouting his name which came to him as a surprise as he never knew that he was that famous already. But he, along with all the other X Factor contestants receive the news that they will be performing on the X Factor tour. The stage filled with black and white colours with Craig wearing a black suit. Louis and Tulisa suggest that the song choice could’ve been something better. Judges are criticising about song choice, but they should be giving their critique on the performance not song choice.

Mr and Mrs Walliams are in the audience and Mr Walliams says that Little Mix are his favourite act.

When Misha B was a young child her mother had left her and now she wrote to the press stating she wants to get together and make up. This left Misha B in tears along with her mentor Kelly. Rowland never knew her father for 22 years and it was difficult to make up, but she did. Misha B wore a pure white dress vocally she delivered strongly and she finished emotionally with tears rolling.

Loving the clothing on Marcus, pink! He closes the show as he is the last act to perform for the night.

Over on to the X Factor and the judges are all over the place about song choices. Get a grip!

Drum roll…the 2011 Xtra Factor award winner is Louis!

The Results

Sadly, I missed the results show as I was busy eating and had completely forgot about it coming on. I knew something was missing so it must’ve been the results show. Anyway, I tuned in the minute I had remembered about it and I must say I was pretty shocked. Craig was there on stage with Gary and I was speechless. I had to say his name to clarify that it was actually him. Rewinding a little back, it was Amelia and Craig in the sing off. The judges gave their votes which resulted in a deadlock. Dermot then reveals that Craig was the act with the fewest of the public voted, with Amelia surviving in to the next live show.
