Rihanna claims sixth UK number one with We Found Love

Rihanna shot straight to the top of the charts with her new single We Found Love featuring Calvin Harris this weekend, beating Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s Moves Like Jagger into second place.

The song, which features Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, sold 87,000 copies and saw off its rivals, despite only being released on Wednesday.

We Found Love is the Barbadian’s sixth number one, following previous chart-toppers Umbrella, Take A Bow, Only Girl (In The World), Run This Town and What’s My Name?

Rihanna, who is currently on tour in the UK, recently caused a storm in Northern Ireland after being asked by a farmer to cover up while filming a video clip in his field. Alan Graham said he did not “believe young ladies should have to take their clothes off to entertain”.
