Chicago… the windy city that blew me off my feet!
By Natasha Patel
Chicago is the place where you live the high life and also called the windy city. I went to Chicago with my parents, my two cousins and their parents. My dad’s sister lives with her family in Dekalb, which is not that far from Chicago but one of her sons Sunny lives in central Chicago, who has the most modern, chic flat with an amazing view of lake Michigan and buildings. The reason why we all went Chicago is to join the joyous engagement of my cousin. But while had spare time we were able to explore the beautiful city of Chicago. You all must know that Chicago is well know for the birth place of modern American architecture, and lucky me was taken on a boat ride round on lake Michigan to see all the famous buildings, such as building 333 West Wacker my favourite building. I also drove through the tunnel where the dark Knight was filmed which was amazing as it was one of my favourite films. Experiencing Chicago blues, soul and jazz is a must, as is the Ferris wheel. Also what I found so weird was a big large round metal object in the middle of a place called the bean that you could walk under but its quite cool and unusual.
Also me and My two cousins Amit, the one who wore his long sleeved Manchester united top in hot weather and the one and only Darshika who loves travelling went to the highest building in Chicago called the Sears Tower. It had the most glamorous views that anyone could see and it can take your breath away. We also took a picture with the Michael Jordon on the wall as everyone who visits takes a picture there, in my family anyway. We also enjoyed a day just sitting in the symphony centre in Millennium Park where we enjoyed the symphony orchestra.

One of the days we went shopping, we left the apartment at half nine and came home at half five. It was a long day but worth it. The staff at the malls we exceedingly nice, when you walk in they would say, “Hi welcome, how was your day” and open the door for you. And when your looking round someone would come up to you and see if you need help. Then when you leave they say, “Have a nice day”. They were really polite and considerate people. We spent most of the time looking for foot locker as my cousin wanted to get ice cream trainers. We walked for ages just to find this shop and they didn’t even have them in store. So funny but annoying.
Chicago was an enjoyable experience and recommendable to anyone. It was a fun, exciting and enjoyable holiday. It was really good experiencing the American culture and I loved the atmosphere. This would be a place I would consider moving to when i’m older. I absolutely loved it!
