Sandwell Shadow Youth Cabinet, also known as SSYC, is a group of young individuals working to improve your lives. There are 3 elected members from each of the Towns in Sandwell who work towards their manifesto which consists of the main issues that concern young people boroughwide and which were voted for by more than 3,000 young people.
These issues are:
1) safety in the community
2) substance misuse
3) public transport
4) things for young people to do
5)young people’s rights
In addition to the 3 members from each Town we also have 4 members elected to the United Kingsdom Youth Parliament who represent your voice regionally and nationally. To find out more about UKYP visit: http://www.ukyouthparliament.org.uk/
Those who do not get elected on to SSYC can apply to join local youth forums or the Youth Parliament which can be considered as a stepping stone towards joining SSYC.
We are looking for individuals ages between 13 and 19 (up to 23 if you have a learning difficulty or disability) who are determined, hardworking, motivated and get the job done. If you are interested in finding out more about SSYC then contact Sandwell Active Youth Involvement Team (SAY IT) on:

We have recently set up a facebook page, click ‘like’ to support us and send us your comments/issues and we will get back to you, letting you know if we can help.
