When I was in primary school, I went on a school trip to Old Trafford, home stadium of Manchester United Football Club. My grandad suggested that we visit each of the 92 football clubs in the football league. This is how my adventure started.

When I visited Old Trafford, I went around the stadium, had some photographs taken and collected a match ticket, which had a picture of the club badge on the front. I told my grandad as he is interested in football, and from that day we went to all of the 92 clubs in the football league.
We also did some of the clubs in the conference and non-league. I had my photograph taken outside each of the stadiums and I have stored them all in albums. I also went into the club shops and have collected football pennants from the clubs. If they did not have a pennant, I would get something else, for example a scarf, as a souvenir to say that I had been to the ground.
I have got some photographs of stadiums that are not there anymore, and we have visited the club’s new stadium if they had moved. We would do a few in the same area. When we had done each of the clubs for that area, we would end up at the seaside and have some fish and chips and have a go on the amusements.
It took around about ten years to complete our visit to every stadium in the football league, and we completed it in 2006. I wrote a letter to the Football Association to say that I had visited all of the football stadiums and they sent me a letter back to congratulate me and gave me a picture of the England Team with all of the players’ signatures on it, some football cards with pictures of the players on, one from the England Men’s Team and two from the England Women’s team, and a key-ring.
In May 2006, while I was collecting photographs of each of the grounds I had been to, I also went on a tour of Anfield, home of Liverpool Football Club, with my dad and my grandad. We had some photographs of the stadium and statues of people who had played for them recently, and some photographs inside from when they won the European Cup in Istanbul in May 2005.
I also went to Villa Park, home of Aston Villa Football Club, to see a training match, as they had never held a training match there before. I collected the autographs of two players, Gareth Barry and Liam Ridgewell.
We collected photographs of each of the stadiums that we had visited as a hobby. It was the experience of a lifetime to complete such an amazing feat. It’s something I will never forget.
